Isolation, characterization and optimization of bacterial isolate SARR1 for biodegradation of pretreated low density polyethylene

چکیده

Accumulation of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) has caused a threat to the environment because its stable and inert nature as it cannot be degraded easily by microorganisms. Its lightweight, low cost, strength, durability, various other applications, have led wide usage polymer, which is exerting negative effect on both marine land biota. The development an eco-friendly or promising strategy needed reduce LDPE waste from water. In present study, observations been made isolate highly efficient degrading bacteria. response surface methodology (RSM) was used predict best optimization media for degradation SARR1. SARR1 selected through primary screening weight loss method secondary using CO2 evolution test, TTC MATH Test. showed 6.30 ± 0.25 g/L evolution. microbial adhesion hydrophobicity (MATH) observed during log phase (100 56.89 0.97 %) stationary 82.92 1.24 %). An converted into red coloured insoluble triphenyl formazan (TPF) after incubation 7 days. isolated bacteria 38.3 1.27 % biodegradation efficiency in pretreated strips at 37 °C pH 7.0 under optimized conditions within 30 days incubation. This bioremediation approach safe environment. results treatment with had potential hope degrade higher rate than natural degradation.
